Rock the Barnet is a hair & beauty salon based in York, North Yorkshire. Formerly named Innovations, the salon is owned and managed by Jessica Steel and was established in 2003.

We are a busy salon with many loyal clients and we just love what we do! Our fully qualified and friendly staff have years of experience and will happily take on any aspect of hair design in pursuit of making you look amazing!

We are also proud to have Emma’s Nails and Beauty operating from the salon, with Emma, a fully qualified NVQ Level 3 Nail Technician and Bryony, a fully qualified MUA Lash and Brow Technician.

Why the rebrand?

When taking over the salon back in 2004, although wanting to make it her own and call it 'Rock the Barnet', Jess was encouraged to keep the original name 'Innovations'. She quickly built the salon into a successful small business and spent time making improvements to the salon's appearance and offering. Finally, in 2018 the time came to realise her dream and bravely rebrand the business she has worked so hard to build.

With a little help and a lot of determination we're really happy with what we've achieved and hope that, as well as keeping our existing clients happy, we'll be welcoming some new faces through our freshly painted doors! As well as the salon having a fresh new look, we also have a new website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and email address.

We're the same lovely people, we've just had a makeover!
